From the recording Sojourns (1990)
O! Que Mueve Mezes (traditional Sephardic Jewish)
Chorus: Blessed be God that we should live to see this day! Such happiness is indeed a good sign.
V1: O! That in nine months, laboring through the narrow passage, a son has been born to us with the face of the moon. Long live she who gave birth with her tiny child!
V2: When the midwife says: Give! Push!
The expectant mother says: "O God! Escape from me!
All the people say: Amen! Amen! So be it!
V3: How well these pains are used that a son has been born to us with the face of flowers. It is always to God that we give our praise.
V4: You who have given birth! Give us the strains for this good song. We honor you with your hands now filled. May you enjoy and raise children in your life.
