From the recording Sojourns (1990)
Tri Bilbila (traditional, Macedonia; Skopje region)
The nightingales are singing in a tree. The first sings for supper, the second sings for going to sleep, the third sings for getting up. If I knew which nightingale was singing for its supper, I'd feed it raisins. If I knew which nightingale was singing for going to sleep, I'd give it red wine to drink. If I knew which was singing for getting up, I would feed it black poison!
